At 85 mm x 54 mm, the eight-digit SL-800 calculator was astonishingly slim, at just 0.8 mm, and light, at 12 g. In 2013, the SL-800 was designated an Essential Historical Materials for Science and Technology (or Future Technology Heritage) by the National Museum of Nature and Science in Tokyo, as a calculator with an extraordinarily slim, compact form.
